Where can I find the property and widget IDs?

The instructions below are for desktops and laptops only.

You’ll need your Property ID and Widget ID when you customize a widget, set up automation, or use APIs. This short guide shows where to find both on your tawk.to dashboard and how to grab them from your Direct Chat Link.

Find your Property ID

1. Log in to your tawk.to account.


2. Select the correct property.

3. Click Administration in the top menu.

4. In Overview, your Property ID is below the Property Image

Find your widget ID

1. Log in to your tawk.to account.


2. Select the correct property.

3. Click Administration in the top menu.

4. Click Chat Widget under Channels.

5. Your Widget ID is under the Widget Status.

IDs in the Direct Chat Link

Your Direct Chat Link also contains both IDs. You can copy the portion after “https://tawk.to/chat/” to get your Property ID and Widget ID.

Quick tips

  • Always confirm the selected property before copying an ID — IDs are property-specific.

  • If you plan to add the widget to a website, copy the Widget Code from Administration > Channels > Chat Widget and paste it just before your site’s </body> tag.
