Why am I not getting sound notifications?

If you're not receiving sound notifications from your tawk.to Dashboard, here are a few things to check:


Volume check

Ensure your volume is turned up. If you’re on a desktop or mobile, check the volume settings and make the necessary adjustments.


If you're using headphones or external speakers, double-check that they're plugged in correctly and aren’t muted. If they have a built-in volume control, ensure it’s turned up, too.


Then, perform a simple check:
Open a YouTube video to see if your computer or device plays audio properly.


Browser notifications

Unmute tabs

Right-click on the tab containing your tawk.to Dashboard, and ensure it isn’t muted in your browser.


For Chrome: right-click on the tab name and select Unmute Site.

System notifications

Your computer's operating system may have notification settings, where you can grant permissions for specific apps and adjust how notifications are displayed.


For Windows:

Go to Start > Settings > System > Notifications & actions.

For Mac:

Go to Apple menu > System Preferences > Notifications.
Test it out

Follow these steps to check if your notifications are working:


1. Copy your Direct Chat link from the Chat Widget page.

2. Paste the link into a new browser tab and start a conversation. Then, check if your notifications can be heard.


With these steps, you should be receiving sound notifications from your tawk.to Dashboard loud and clear.
