How do I remove the Knowledge Base search from my chat widget?
The instructions below are for desktops and laptops only.
This guide shows you how to remove the Knowledge Base (KB) search bar from your tawk.to chat widget using a desktop or laptop. You can remove all KB cards from the widget, or keep the Knowledge Base enabled and disable only the search card.
Steps to remove the Knowledge Base search

3. Click Administration in the top menu.

4. In the left menu, click Chat Widget under Channels.

5. Click Edit Content under Widget Content.

6. To remove all Knowledge Base-related cards from the widget, turn off the Knowledge Base switch.

The widget preview will update and the search bar will disappear.


7. If you want to keep the Knowledge Base but hide only the search field, leave Knowledge Base switched on and disable the KB Search card instead.

That’s it! You can switch the Knowledge Base search on or off anytime with the above steps.
Additional considerations
This only changes the chat widget display
Turning the Knowledge Base off in the chat widget removes KB cards from the widget preview; it does not change your Knowledge Base site’s status or publish settings (Published / Unpublished). You can manage these from the Knowledge Base settings if needed.AI Assist and the Knowledge Base
If you have AI Assist enabled, your Knowledge Base is used as a data source for AI Assist. Disabling the KB cards in the widget does not change AI Assist data sources. You can manage data sources independently in your AI Assist settings.
