How to set up a chat page
The instructions below are for desktops and laptops only.
What is a Chat Page?
A chat page is a dedicated, standalone page that offers several key features:
Company introduction: It showcases your company with a profile and branding.
Social media links: It provides links to your social channels.
Live chat access: Visitors can easily launch a live chat with just one click.
Shareability: The page can be shared via email signatures or on social media.
Why use a Chat Page?
A chat page makes it easy for visitors to start a conversation, even if you don’t have a website. It’s a convenient option for offering support or sharing your business profile across multiple channels.
Creating your Chat Page

3. Click Administration in the top menu.

4. Click Page under Channels in the left menu.

5. Enter your Page Identifier and Page Name. Then select the chat widget you want to use for your chat page, and click Create Page.

6. Once your page is created, you can modify the following settings:
- Rename the page- Update the Page Image
- Enable or disable your chat page
- Change the URL
- Customize the appearance and content of the page
- Change the chat widget for your chat page

Page Status
If you don’t want your chat page to be visible to visitors, you can deactivate it by switching the Page Status to Inactive. When someone tries to visit an inactive page, they’ll see an error message instead of your page.

Page Image
You can upload your business logo or custom images under Page Image. Click Modify Profile Picture to change the Page Image. After making your changes, click Save.
Image size requirements:
Minimum: 80 x 80 pixels
Maximum: 2084 x 2084 pixels

Page Appearance and Content

Under Page Appearance, you can personalize the background color of your chat page. Click Advanced to open the Page Content editor.
Under Page Content, you can change the default language for your chat page under Language. Click Edit Content to open the Page Content editor.
In the Page Content editor, you can choose the theme and color scheme for your chat page. You can also include the following information:
Company Name
Company URL
Slogan
Business Summary
Detailed Description
Tags
Industry, Subcategory, and Country
Social profiles and external links
Any field you leave blank will be hidden from the final page view. You’ll see real-time changes in the preview window on the right.
After making your changes:
Click Save (bottom right)
Click View tawk.to Page (top right) to see how your page looks
When you’re done, click the X (top right) to exit the editor

Choose a Chat Widget

You can also customize the widget’s:
Appearance (size, shape, colors)
Content (messages and text)
Behavior (when and how it appears)
