How to integrate AI Assist with BigCommerce
The instructions below are for desktops and laptops only.
With AI Assist, your customers can get fast, personalized support while shopping in your BigCommerce store.
Add the tawk.to widget to BigCommerce
Before setting up the integration, ensure you’ve installed the tawk.to chat widget on your BigCommerce site. For detailed steps, see this guide: Adding a tawk.to widget to BigCommerce
Once the widget is added, BigCommerce will appear as an active integration in your AI Assist settings.
Configuring your AI Assist integration

3. Click Add-ons on the top menu.

4. Click Settings under AI Assist.

5. Select your AI agent.
6. Click Integration/API.

7. You should see BigCommerce under Tools. You can click the pencil icon to adjust the relevant integration settings. Save your changes when you’re done.

After a successful integration, your AI agent will be able to answer customer questions related to your BigCommerce store. Use the widget preview on the right to test your setup.

Important considerations
Widget installation required
If BigCommerce does not appear in your AI Assist settings, double-check that the chat widget has been installed correctly on your store.
Permissions
Make sure you have the right access level in your tawk.to Dashboard. Only admins and property owners can manage AI Assist integrations.
Testing
Always test your setup to confirm AI Assist is responding as expected before going live with customers. If the responses don’t match your needs, update your AI Assist knowledge base or settings.
