Creating and managing aliases
The instructions below are for desktops and laptops only.
Aliases allow you to answer chats using different personas. Each alias has a name and image visitors will see when you respond to chats.
Using aliases can help protect your identity and you can use different personas to cater to a diverse customer base.
Follow these steps to create an alias:
1. Click your profile image on the bottom left corner of your dashboard.
2. Click Edit Profile.
3. Go to Aliases.
4. Click Add Alias.
5. The Alias Image is the image customers will see when you join the chat with this alias.
Under Alias Image, click the button with the 3 dots. Choose Upload Photo, Select Avatar, or Take Photo. We recommend an image with at least 512x512 pixels.
6. Enter the Display Name and Position Title. Visitors will see these in chats.
7. Ensure the Status is switched to Enabled.
8. If you want this to be the default alias, set Set as default alias to Yes. Otherwise, leave it as it is.
9. Check the preview on the right and click Save.
You can now choose an alias from the dropdown menu before joining a chat.
Curate your aliases carefully to maintain a professional image and enhance customer interactions. Using the right alias for the right conversation can help foster great relationships with a diverse customer base.
