An introduction to Integrations in tawk.to
The instructions below are for desktops and laptops only.
With integrations, you can add the tawk.to chat widget to your website, connect AI Assist to external services, and streamline how you communicate with customers across channels.
Whether you want to chat with visitors on your website, respond to messages from other platforms, or let AI Assist work with your business tools, integrations help bring everything together in one place.
This is the most common integration and is typically used with:
- Websites and landing pages
- E-commerce stores
- Content management systems (CMS)
The setup usually involves adding a short JavaScript code snippet or using a built-in integration provided by your platform.
Depending on the integration, AI Assist can:
- Respond to messages from connected channels
- Use external data to answer customer questions
- Assist with e-commerce or account-related queries
These integrations are commonly used with messaging platforms, e-commerce tools, and custom API-based systems.

3. Click Administration on the left navigation bar.

4. Click Integrations in the left submenu.

5. On the Integrations page, the available integrations are categorized as:
- Messaging
- E-Commerce
- Custom Management System (CMS)
- Custom Tool
Note: If you don’t see the integration you need, we’re actively working to expand our integrations to support more platforms over time.

You can use the Search bar at the top or click the relevant tabs to find the integration you want.

- Inbox
- AI Assist
- Tabs
- Widget

- A-Z — integrations are ordered alphabetically, or
- New — see the latest additions first

6. Click the integration you want. This opens the Overview tab for that integration, describing the integration, key benefits, and other details.

Click the Installation tab to see the installation steps. Click Install at the top right corner to begin the installation.


- Messaging integrations
Messaging integrations allow you to connect external messaging platforms to tawk.to. This lets you manage conversations from multiple channels in one inbox.
- E-commerce integrations
E-commerce integrations connect tawk.to and AI Assist with online stores and shopping platforms. These integrations help you assist customers with orders, products, and store-related questions.
- CMS and website integrations
CMS integrations make it easy to add the tawk.to widget to popular website builders and content management systems. These options often require little to no manual coding.
- Custom API integrations
Custom API integrations allow developers to connect tawk.to with internal systems or custom-built applications. These integrations offer more flexibility and are best suited for advanced or custom workflows.
- Google integrations
tawk.to also supports integrations with Google services, which can help with analytics, authentication, or other Google-based tools.
Additional considerations
- Integrations require administrator access to the tawk.to property.
- Certain AI Assist integrations may require an active AI Assist subscription.
- Setup steps can vary depending on the platform you are connecting.
- If you manage multiple properties, integrations are configured per property.
