Restricting the chat widget from showing on desktop or mobile
The instructions below are for desktops and laptops only.
You can control the visibility of your widget for both desktop and mobile users through the Platform Restriction settings on your tawk.to dashboard.

3. Click Administration on the top menu.

4. In the left menu, click Channels and select Chat Widget.

5. Scroll down to Availability Restriction. Then, click Configure under Platform Restriction.

6. In the Availability Restriction settings pop-up, switch Platform Restriction on.

7. Choose one of the following options from the dropdown:
- SHOW widget only to visitors on the following platforms, or
- HIDE widget only from visitors on the following platforms
8. Check the appropriate checkboxes to choose the platforms:
- Desktop: Control visibility for desktop users.
- Mobile: Control visibility for mobile users.
9. Click Save. Your widget updates automatically; no need to update your website’s HTML.
Important considerations
Enabling Platform Restriction for both desktop and mobile will hide the widget from all your visitors.
The Platform Restriction settings apply to each widget individually. If you have multiple widgets, repeat these steps for each one.
