Removing a ban

The instructions below are for desktops and laptops only.

If you’ve banned a visitor and need to let them back in, you can easily remove them from your Ban List. Once they’re unbanned, they’ll be able to see your widget and start new chats on your site.

How to unban visitors

1. Log in to your tawk.to account.

2. Select the correct property.

3. Click Administration on the top menu.

4. Click Ban List under User Management.

5. Click the visitor you’d like to unban. This opens the visitor’s ban details. Click Delete.

6. To unban multiple visitors, click the checkboxes next to their names in the Ban list and click Delete.

7. Click Delete again to confirm. The selected visitor(s) will be removed from your Ban list.

Important considerations

  • Unbanning restores access. Once you remove someone from the Ban List, they can see the widget and start new chats on your site again.

  • Unbanning is immediate. Changes take effect right away, so the visitor won’t need to refresh their browser or clear cookies.

  • Unbanned visitors are treated like new visitors. Their previous ban status doesn’t carry over — they’ll appear in your dashboard just like any other site visitor.

  • You can re-ban if needed. If issues continue, you can add them back to the Ban List at any time.
