AI Assist Plans and Subscriptions

The AI Assist add-on brings AI-powered responses and automation to your tawk.to dashboard. While AI Assist is available for free, usage limits apply depending on the plan you choose.

This guide explains the available AI Assist plans, how message credits work, and how to manage your subscription as your needs grow.

Key terms

Understanding these terms will help you choose the right AI Assist plan.

  • Message completion
    A message completion is counted each time AI Assist generates a response. This includes AI Assist replies, AI Commands, and Smart Reply. Messages generated in the Preview section are not counted.


  • Data characters
    Data characters represent the total amount of text AI Assist can store and process from your training sources, including crawled and imported content.

  • Human takeover
    Human takeover allows AI Assist to transfer a conversation to a human agent based on customer requests or predefined conditions.

  • Assisted setup
    Assisted setup refers to help provided by the tawk.to team to configure AI Assist.

  • Support level
    Each plan includes a different level of support, ranging from Help Docs to dedicated account management.

AI Assist plans overview

AI Assist is available on four plans, designed to scale from testing and personal use to mission-critical customer support:

  • Hobby (Free)
    Best for testing, personal use, or small projects.

  • Growth
    Designed for professional websites that are not business-critical.

  • Business
    Built for growing businesses that rely on AI Assist for customer engagement.

  • Enterprise
    Designed for mission-critical environments where customer support is central to operations.

Message credits and overages

Each AI Assist plan includes a monthly allowance of message completions. Your usage resets automatically at the start of each billing cycle. You can view your remaining messages and reset date and top up message credits in the AI Assist add-on page in your dashboard.

Upgrading or downgrading your AI Assist plan

You can change your AI Assist plan at any time. You can choose monthly or annual billing. Annual billing includes two free months. If you change plans mid-cycle, the new plan takes effect at the start of your next billing period.

  • Message completions are shared across all AI Assist bots under the same subscription.


  • Data characters include all crawled and imported content.

  • Automatic re-crawling frequency depends on your plan.
